Adium X

Proved myself right, I gave up Adium already!

Adium

That’s a screenshot from a chat with Doug (yeah it was staged, what do you want me to do), and I’m starting to use Adium again, I got interested in it and downloaded it again, and customized it to my liking.

Adium:

Adium is a free instant messaging application for Mac OS X, released under the GNU GPL and developed by the Adium team.

It’s a semi-replacement for iChat, except for the fact it lacks Audio/Video capabilities (and if I recall correctly, the Adium team is working on this) and (if Doug’s file transfer shows me anything) they still haven’t fixed the File Transfer feature, but it’s good enough, and more customizable than iChat, although I could never abandon my iChat I’ll probably go through a phase with Adium then go back to iChat and being Anti-Adium like I used to be.

Wow thanks for the updates Doug, didn’t know you had that problem, that’s also probably because I couldn’t see what you were typing! :p

I used to hate Adium… I downloaded it a few times and deleted it soon after. But eventually iChat had too many annoyances and little bugs in it, so I switched permanently… I never used the AV part of iChat AV, and file transfers always work for me.

The GUI looks nice, but so does Proteus’ & I bet Proteus is better anyway. I tried Fire too, but its interface just isn’t as iChatty as Proteus’, so Proteus wins. And Skype & are pretty good too. But I’ll always use iChat as my primary chat program.

Oops, meant to put Gizmo after Skype, oh well.
