1. a computer is not an investment. at best its a depreciating asset, or a liability.
2. just throwing this out there, grow some hair! If you get a little bit of hair it makes your head look smaller. I’m 100% serious … start now.
3. pay more attention to the angle you’re shooting at. the video blogs are good, but the more attention to detail … the better the final product.
1. I consider anything over $1000 an investment to me.
2. I had a ton of hair, I quite fancy me with shorter hair, plus easier to take care of.
3. The angle I’m shooting at?
thanks for this vidcast, I enjoy to watch them because my brother is going to buy one. He’s waiting for a back-to-school promotion from apple.com or a local reseller.
Thanks - it’s good to know that Macbook isn’t cooking you! I’ve been reading about it quite a bit, and the only problem that people seem to be able to come up with is the heat, so if that isn’t an issue, it’s looking good
As soon as my exams are over, I’m going on a trip to go and drool all over Macbooks (don’t worry - not literally!) with a friend at the Apple London store, so I’m looking forward to the chance to play with one first hand
I’m really going to try and get one at the end of this summer - they look awesome. Thanks again for the reply,
I’m so glad you brought up the wireless aspect of the macbook. Not enough has been said about how flat out AWESOME the wireless is. I live in NYC and have never been able to get any wireless in my apartment in both my G5 and my ibook. With my macbook, I’d say at least 4 times the amount of wireless networks show up in my airport toolbar and I’m able to connect to a few of them. It’s pretty damn amazing.
Good podcast. I want to know did you make this podcast with ILife ‘06? and is your wireless router the airport extreme or express. How much range does the express give off? I’m a PC user who is switching to Mac and saving up for a macbook.
I used iMovie HD and recorded from there, so I guess you could say that. I gave up on Airport a while ago, I ditched my old extreme base station for a D-Link DI524, and I’ve no regrets about that. The express I’ve heard is good but I’ve gotten great range with my DI524 like I said.
Hey, I would love to get a Apple MacBook at the end of the summer for the next school year. I was just wondering if this is a good computer for school work and if it is a good computer to bring into school to take notes on it and such. I would also like to know if you could get an internet connection in school, or do you need a wireless router or something?
A new macbook would be perfect for school. It all depends on whether or not your school has a wireless internet connection. Most universities do. But, I’m unsure if you are talking about high school or college.
This thing [for me at least] is too expensive and not worth it to bring it to my school, it’ll get busted there :p - but it’s a very portable computer, don’t worry about that ;).
It depends on the school really. I’ve been bringing my DellBook into school quite a few times this year. It requires a bit of thought before you take it in though. You need to think about how you’d store it (I found a skin case which has enough protection for me to shove it in my school backpack), where you’d keep it while you get lunch, have sport periods etc. and so forth. Quite a few people at my school bring them in now, so I just observed what they do with theirs
On a very positive note, I’m going to be able to sell my DellBook to one of my siblings and get a MacBook this summer now
Our school (I go to the same one as Larry for those of you who haven’t figured that out yet) has a terrestrial ethernet network as well as a wireless network on one side of the ‘b-pod’ (the middle of three buildings), that looks like it’s coming from the tech satellite office. I’m guessing we aren’t supposed to use it though, but the signal reaches into the cafeteria and some of the social studies and science rooms.

Wireless sounds amazing, and i thought the ibook wireless was great.

Congrats on the switch :).
What is “Nien” supposed to mean?
