Smash the Zune?

zune.jpg

Well, in the tradition of Smash my iPod and sites of the same sort, that it would be fitting to raise the $249 + tax + shipping needed for one of these Zune players, walk into a Best Buy, turn my video camera on, pay for it, walk out into the parking lot with it and smash it to little bits and pieces, all on video tape, posted to YouTube.

What do you think of the idea and would you donate? If so, I’ll purchase smashthezune.com and setup a Wordpress blog with a donation link(s) and info there for all to behold.

Discuss/opinionate/debate.

That’s a pretty dumb idea in my opinion. I thought all the “Smash my whatever” sites were dumb, though. Money raised for mindless destruction is wasteful and could be put to a much better cause. But if other people like the idea and donate, I suppose I wouldn’t mind watching the video :P

Why not donate the approx. $300 to a worthy charity instead of spending it on a product you’re going to smash twenty seconds after you buy it? I just think that money could be put to better use.

How about people donate, you buy one, review it, and then donate it to charity?

That would be a much less dumb-ass idea.

Davis, then why don’t you donate some money to a charity, I recommend: http://www.childsplaycharity.org/index.php if you don’t like the idea and didn’t plan on contributing I don’t think there’s much room for debate about charities.

Here’s a thought: Smash the worthless piece of crap that’s just based off of some toshiba wannabe after raising $600, sell it on ebay smashed (collecting even more money), and donate the rest of it to charity. Done.
