Two things and I’ll try to do a real entry tomorrow.
First off, I normally don’t dip into politics but you have to listen to this: link and look at this: link. Both of these things are f’in hilarious, although for the MP3 you’d have to understand the “George Bush doesn’t like black people” part which an easy Google search would reveal of you can read this article: link.
Hopefully I can do a real entry tomorrow, but no promises I’m actually doing HW this year so I can play on the football team :p.

Yesterday I interviewed John Tylko from the Different District, with their website about to go into it’s third version, I figured it’d be nice to sit and talk with the kid.
Me: Hello John, thanks for this opportunity to interview you about DD V3.
John: No problem. I’m glad to be here today.
Me: First off, what is so good about this new version of your site?
John: Different District version 3 radically redefines Different District as a whole. From the new GUI, to the brand new feature set, all pages are amazingly done, thanks to the help from Tristan Mace and tm11design.
Me: What kinds of NEW features if any can we expect?
John: Well, one of the major new features is the news blurbs. Headline news stories are still going to be posted, but news blurbs will simply be links on the right side of the page to the latest Mac software updates, and smaller news stories. A news blurb is simply a link to a product info page and a title. You can also expect to see your login information displayed on every page. Separate from the forums, this login will allow you to comment on almost all pages, and have your own profile and everything. If you submit a story, your name will appear as the author when we post it.
Me: I’ve heard from you and your team that the forum is undergoing a HUGE revamp, can you tell me anything about that?
John: The forums are going to be completely cuztomized to tie in well with the site. Tristan has done a really good job with designing the forum, and it looks great so far, but I can’t give out too much info simply becuase it is not finished.
Me: Is there a set release date for DD3?
John: Yes, but we haven’t announced it yet. It will come before the end of the year.
Me Is there anything else you’d like to say about DD3 to maybe HYPE it up more, I’ve watched the trailer and that gives you a pretty good idea but is there something NOT in the trailer that has been developed or that you’d like to say?
John:There are many things that aren’t shown in the trailer. The full interface is never shown and that’s the thing that will surprise everyone the most. The select few who have been chosen to see it have been very impressed, and we are sure it will blow you away.
Me: Thanks for the short interview John, it was fun.

Guess what, I just had a mint.
Mint is the new “stat system” from one of my favorite web developer peeps Shaun Inman it’s awesome so far, it’s a HUGE improvement over shortstat which I used to use (link to widget) and that was awesome, but as soon as I got the email in my inbox about Mint I went and checked it out.
Yes, it does carry the (in my opinion) unfair price tag of $30 per domain name but I can always eBay something to make my money back. While I don’t agree with the price tag I would definately recommend this “software” to anybody who is looking for a stat reporter, it goes really in depth, more than most cPanel stat programs I have seen.
Mint also comes with a widget, called Junior Mint which is also in the picture above.

Gravatars back! For the time being anyways..
If you’ll notice, yesterday the site would load really slow, well I’ve isolated the problem to the gravatars. So for the time being, I’ve taken the code out of the pages, hopefully I can furthur figure it out and get the code back in ASAP.
So if you see your comment and the gravatar is “missing” it’s because they’ve been disabled for a bit, will return soon *hopefully*.
UPDATE: Now they ate the eggs (that’s normal actually) and qube is at the moment getting ready to lay more, fucking stupid fish.

qube isn’t a boy - SHE’s a GIRL. Ok, shocking yes but…
