Mmm…pelvis? Now hip.

Mmm...pelvis!

UPDATE: Turns out Mer broke her hip, needs to have surgery TODAY so I’m leaving in an hr to go into the hospital with mom to go sign the papers so she can have it done.

UPDATE 2: Just got home from an 8 hour stay at the hospital, her surgery went well and she’ll be doped up until tomorrow.

Well count on the blogging to slow (as if it hasn’t already) for a few days until at least the weekend. Why? Because last night was eventful, here’s a rundown:

  • 10:00PM Bob leaves for work, mom and I go to bed.
  • 11:30PM Phone rings, it’s The Waters, Mer fell and was on the floor in her room.
  • 1:00AM Phone rings AGAIN, The Waters - she was being sent to Mercy Hospital for Xrays.
  • 6:00AM Phone AGAIN, The Waters, she had been admitted and will be in there a few days.
  • 7:00AM I can’t sleep, so I get up!

Why is this story title “Mmm…pelvis?”, well because Mer fractured her right side of her pelvis, so they have to keep her down and off her feet, and if you know Mer you know she doesn’t like to sit in the least bit so this is going to be interesting, so I have to go see her later today and deal with phone calls from Mercy Hospital while Bob is sleeping today because they don’t know enough to call my mom at work…

15″ PowerBook no more?

PowerBook G4's

(Pardon me if this is old news.) Is it just me or is Apple removing the 15″ PowerBook G4 from it’s product line? Granted, I have a 12″ G4 that works just fine, the 15″ was always my favorite (and my first Mac).

Is this something that happened recently or am I just blind and haven’t seen anything posted about it? Plus, to add to this, the 15″ PowerBook G4 page still exists…

Update: TUAW has posted a story.
Update 2: Doug has posted a link to a previous JOT that goes perfect with this situation. Link

Apple Trademarks

It’s finally happened folks, we’ve been contacted by Apple Legal (sooner or later I guess right) and we have to pretty much close the site, here’s a quote from the email we were sent:

It has recently come to our attention that your company’s trade name
is made up of two of Apple’s highly valued trademarks: Apple and
Keynote. Your website is also using Apple’s logo and an image of
Steve Jobs and appears to be offering Apple’s copyrighted materials,
including the keynote addresses given by Mr. Jobs, which is protected
by copyright law. While Apple appreciates your enthusiastic support
of our company, we are concerned that your company’s name and site
will mislead consumers into believing that you are formally affiliated
with Apple. Apple’s intellectual property is its primary asset and we
are obligated under law to protect it; otherwise, we run the risk of
losing our rights.

So we have to do the following:

We therefore must request that you (1) change your company’s name to
something other than AppleKeynotes.com; (2) remove the image of Steve
Jobs and the Apple logo that appears at the top of each webpage; and
(3) remove any Apple copyrighted material, including any copyrighted
speeches or keynote addresses. For more information on Apple’s
policies relating to use of its trademarks and copyrighted materials,
please visit http://www.apple.com/legal/trademark/.

But at least Apple was impressed we were supporting them!

While we appreciate that you have included a disclaimer on your site
which states that you are not affiliated or endorsed by Apple, we must
request that you move the disclaimer to the top of the page to make it
more visible.

So yeah, we’re closing our doors - thanks for those who contributed and downloaded!

(Dear Apple Legal, if I’m not allowed to post this email, please let me know and it will be taken down ASAP.)

Major Props!

JOT

I gotta give major props to JOT for totally making fun of those who got all gaga over those internal Apple Pictures of the MacBook Pro being unpacked.

Thumbs up JOT!

Leave me a message.

Thanks to Chris J. Davis (K2 co-creator) I’ve found a new and really cool feature, it’s for Odeo users and it lets you record your voice using your builtin mic and send somebody an audio message, I tested it out and it works great! So you know what you should do?

I’ve also put a button under my about info, so either way.

Edit: Here’s a sample recording.
